This followed receipt of a number of comments from patients over a period of time that clinics were overcrowded, with some patients forced to stand and that the waiting time at clinics was excessive.     This visit to Cricklewood Walk-in Centre, was a follow up to the visits made in January and March 2018 and was arranged with the recently appointed Practice Manager to discuss the recommendations of those reports. The report also talks about the future of the centre, which is on the border of Barnet, Brent and Camden. We were told that about half the patients come from Brent, about 40% from Barnet and 10% from Camden.

    This announced E&V visit was part of a planned strategy to look at the quality of care provided at a range of care & nursing homes within Barnet. Elmhurst Residential Home is a privately run home for up to 30 older people living with dementia.

    This was an announced enter and view visit to the emergency department of the Royal Free Hospital on Monday 14th March 2016 10am- 12:00pm. The visits were planned to evaluate access for those with communication impairments to Emergency Departments across North, Central and East London. This involved asking staff members questions about accessibility, observing the working practice, touring the department and if possible, engaging with service users.

    After the original Enter and View visit to Suffolk Ward at Chase Farm Hospital in March 2015, Healthwatch Enfield and Healthwatch Barnet, returned to Suffolk Ward, in June 2016, to follow up the observations and recommendations made after their first visit.

    During February and March 2019, we conducted a survey with patients attending A&E departments in the Royal Free Hospital Trust. Our team of staff and volunteers visited the Accident & Emergency Departments at Barnet Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital to gather the views of over 500 patients. The main objective was to identify why people were coming to A&E.

    Our Enter & View team visited Catherine Lodge as part of Healthwatch’s planned series of visits to Care/Nursing homes in Barnet. Catherine Lodge is an independent family run care home for the elderly, located in North Finchley.
