    The NHS Long Term Plan, a ten-year plan created by NHS England, sets out a vision to make sure that health services are fit for purpose in the future. A significant part of the plan is around preventative action against illness and disease.

    This project set out to explore awareness and use of different medical services available in Barnet, amongst residents attending a GP surgery. Millway Medical Practice was approached as a key
    location to carry out this project.

  6. Engaging Local People in the North London Partners Urgent and Emergency Care Programme – Summary and Reports

    Healthwatch Camden co-ordinated work by five local Healthwatch organisations, in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington to help local residents have a say in plans for urgent and emergency care in North London.

    The Silver Line is the only national confidential and free helpline, open 24 hours a day, providing information, friendship and advice for older people.

  8. Experiences of podiatry services in Barnet

    After being made aware of issues for service users not being able to continue accessing NHS podiatry services, Healthwatch Barnet decided to look at the alternatives that are available locally to understand the options open to Barnet residents.

    This report summarises two announced Enter and View visits undertaken by Healthwatch Barnet to look at the services provided to the public at Finchley Memorial Hospital’s Walk-in-Centre, particularly focusing on patient experience at this site.

    Healthwatch Barnet carried out a piece of research about the experiences of women who live in Barnet, and used different maternity services across the borough in the last two years.

    The Royal Free Hospital has been reviewing their blood taking service (also known as phlebotomy service) to ensure that they are delivering the very best care to their patients.

  16. A review of the Referral Management System information and its use by Barnet GPs.

    What happens when a GP wants to refer you to a specialist? They send the referral to the Referral Management Service. The RMS team send the patient a letter within three weeks of the referral explaining how to book an appointment,online or via phone.
