Response to Barnet CCG Consultation on the proposed move of Ravenscroft Medical Centre practice April 2019

During the CCG’s consultation period, we received emails from patients and carers of patients currently registered at Ravenscroft Medical Practice. All the emails raised concerns about the proposed move and the impact on patients. We attended three of the open consultation sessions to listen to the feedback from patients and carers and to CCG’s and Ravenscroft Medical Centre’s response to this feedback. As a result we identified several issues and recommended action to help support patients, should the proposed move take place.

The response from BCCG highlighted the following points:

  • The criteria and process for selecting Ravenscroft and how it was developed by.  The BCCG explained in more detail how and by whom the assessment process was undertaken, and whether it was considered a fair and transparent assessment of the applications for Ravenscroft to move to Finchley Memorial Hospital
  • As part of the consultation process, BCCG talked to the local practices asking for their views generally and (for surgeries within a mile of Ravenscroft) about their capacity to take on additional patients. The capacity of these practices will inform the decision-making process.
  • If relocation is agreed, BCCG will work with us on ways to support patients through the process of re-registration, especially the frail, vulnerable and older patients that will need the extra support.
