We held a Core 20 Plus event on Saturday the 4th of February, where individuals could get free blood pressure checks and access to information to reduce hypertension. The event was a success, as a 60 attended, and were advised accordingly. This was led by our Community Connectors, who are Patrick, Chloe, Doug and Daniel.

Community Connectors are individuals who take the blood pressure readings and engage clients in being active about their health through learning about hypertension. They engage clients by giving information out and encouraging customers to check their blood pressure regularly, and where they can check, such as their local GP surgery, a pharmacy or by buying a blood pressure machine to enable at home blood pressure checks.

Please note that the community coordinators who do the blood pressure checks are not medically trained, therefore, any information given in the case of high blood pressure, is advice and not a diagnosis.

Please visit the British Heart Foundation website or the NHS website to find out more about Hypertension.
