The British Nutrition Foundation organises Snack-tember.
Snack-tember is a month-long celebration of smarter snacking, encouraging people to rethink what, when and how they snack throughout September. It’s a chance to shine a light on nutritious snack choices that fuel energy, support wellbeing and fit into busy daily routines.
Rather than cutting snacks out altogether, Snack-tember is about making more informed choices. From balanced mid-morning bites to afternoon pick-me-ups, the focus is on snacks that nourish the body, satisfy hunger and support concentration, mood and productivity. It’s an ideal time for individuals, families, schools and workplaces to explore healthier options without sacrificing enjoyment.
#SnackTember also encourages curiosity and creativity in the kitchen. Whether it’s discovering new flavours, prepping snacks in advance or learning how to read food labels more confidently, the month offers a simple, accessible way to build healthier habits that last beyond September.
There will be information, activity ideas, recipes, posters and other exciting materials to help children and young people explore their current snacking choices, and learn about, make and try new snack options.
